    Inky: Book-Pagan. Guilty As Charged.

    Yes, I'm one of those.

I'm one of those Pagans, affectionately labeled 'Book-Pagans', those will read and read and read even more about a particular subject, ritual, deity, etc and never actually do anything. I haven't meditated for over 6 months, and it's never been a regular practice like I have wanted it to be. I always seem to have a excuse that prevents me from doing anything for the Solstice or Equinox. I experience something that finally opens up a direction in the way of Deity, and I spend all my time reading, instead of figuring out how to establish a relationship with them and learn directly from them. I'm tired of not acting on my interests. If I'm interested, it seems silly not to take the interest further.

So, I've decided to start dipping my toes into the world of Non-Book-Pagans and actually doing something 'active' in regards to my spirituality. I really have no idea where to start, but I guess regular meditation is always a decent starting point. Perhaps if I can quiet my mind, I might even be able to listen to the Gods and get their guidance. Seems logical, doesn't it? -_-

Nothing wrong with book pagans :) after all, everyone has to start somewhere.

And just remember that there is more to mediation then just trying to quiet one's mind. If you approach it as work, it will be. But if it's something fun to do, your success will come far more quickly.

*pets* don't worry too much, my dear. You'll get into the swing of things easy enough :)

Besides I'm just one of the fly by he seat of your pants and pray you don't get burnt kind of girls :D

But I really need to start remembering what I actually say in rituals -.- Horrible memory.

Starting somewhere is a good thing...and meditation is a good way to start. I have not been doing alot either, but then again, I can't seem to make my mind quiet down either.
Take your time, start slowly, it will come to you as you need it, and so will deity.

Snap - I'm one of those as well - though I have kids who seem to choose those times to either play up or refuseto go to bed!!!(LOL)

But as they say it's the thought that counts and it makes the time you do manage to get to do anything more poinient I think.

Good luck with the efforts anyway - I'm sure my big plans for the Blue Moon this coming Saturday will go awry again but who knows!

    Blessings
